F5'g memories of Trip to Velankanni in 2008

Velankanni is a small beach town in the state of Tamil Nadu, down South India. Its a very famous pilgrimage spot for Roman Catholics. The legend of Mother Mary's appearance to a few sailors in this place is very famous. There are many stories which have been knit around this small town about all the miraculous blessings that Mother Mary and Infant Jesus have showered upon the people here.
When we were kids, we used to go here during every summer vacation. But now the frequency of our visits have become very rare. The chruch and the surroundings have changed drastically over the years, but the people there, are still the same. Open hearted and always welcoming guests into thier little town.

Just refreshing sweet memories of our family outing after many years. Though my mind was a lot disturbed due to various other reasons, I managed to put up a smile on my face and had great fun. This trip happened almost over a year ago in 2008 during Easter.

The place was so darn crowded. Almost a million worshipers of the Lord Jesus Christ and Mother Mary had gathered here to celebrate the greatest feast of all year, The Lord's Resurrection. We managed to check-in to a pretty good hotel.
