One of my fears... travelling by flight!
Well what shall I say, I love myself :D
Anyway, the Visa was ready, the tickets were booked and then finally came the time when I had to get into the check-in counter all by myself. I was all bold and showing signs of confidence until I entered the airport. I then started feeling a sense of fear and pressure as the time approached closer.
My heart was literally pounding hard till the time I went through the immigration and security checks. But soon after I passed through all of it, I felt, "Is that all?" I was finally waiting at my departure terminal. Nothing to do, no one to talk to, all alone :(
Then was the next leg of the flight experience. Flight announcement!
Everybody lined up with their boarding passes towards Kuala Lumpur on the Malaysian Airlines. I entered a airplane for the very first time, searched for my seat, the flight steward helped me with my luggage. I peacefully sat down beside an elderly Indian couple who were also flying to Melbourne.
Take-off!!! Yes, that was the scariest part. My first flight had a slight jerk while take-off. I hugged the little pillow, closed my eyes tight and sat back.
The take-off pressure was so enormous and as a first-timer, it was really hard on me. My ears got blocked! Once we'd reached a good flight altitude, I relaxed a bit and had a nice sumptuous meal :D. The landing tensed me a bit. But it was pretty smooth :)
Gosh... that was one first-time heart-pounding experience! The flight from Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne was very long, but since I'd already gone through my first time experience, the second one was cool.
Highest altitude covered by plane - 45,000 feet
Coldest temperature outside the plane - -60 deg C
I even saw ice crystals forming on the sides of my plane's window.. they were like the ones shown in cartoons
